Indian Wheelchair Team defeats Nepal in the Asia Cup’19

It was a wonderful atmosphere at Kathmandu, Nepal where for the 1st time Asia Cup for Wheelchair cricket teams was conducted.

Nepal team after being made to bat first at the Tribhundas University International Ground in Nepal registered a total of 140/4 in 20 overs. Opener D Singh top scored for Nepal hitting a solid knock of 66 runs (66 balls)  which had 7 boundaries pushing Nepal to a respectable total. From India, it was Parsuram Desale with 1/8 in 4 overs who was the pick of the bowlers while Sanjeev Singh with 1/22 in 4 overs was also impressive.

Indian team chasing 141 did faced initial hiccupts but they had a backup in their middle order in the name of Vishwanath Gurav.  Vishwanath Gurav at no.4 went on to play a match winning knock of 50* in just 32 balls (9 fours) as he took on the bowlers with domination shifting the positive momentum towards India with his swashbuckling batting steering India to its first Asia Cup win over Nepal.
